2024 Lender Insights
HomeLight’s 2024 Lender Report compiles the findings of a survey of over 85 top lending companies across the United States, including HomeLight partners such as The Loan Store, Luminate Home Loans, and NEO Home Loans, among others.
What's offered in the Lender Insights Report?
- Why homeowners are accessing home equity
- Buyers and sellers are waiting for interest rates to drop below 6%
- Alternative lending solutions are getting attention
HomeLight’s 2024 Lender Insights Survey was fielded between July 22 and August 23, 2024. The findings indicate that debt consolidation is a leading factor for homeowners wanting to access equity in their homes in 2024. At the same time, more homebuyers are seeing deals collapse because of contingencies, such as being unable to sell their current homes.
Interest rates are also preventing homes from changing hands. Would-be buyers and sellers are anxious about the current state of interest rates, hoping for a dip before they make a move.
Our survey also explores the biggest concerns borrowers have right now, some of the most commonly cited factors that cause a home loan to be canceled, and more.
